Sit in your seat!!

Image
As I have mentioned before I have a son. His name is Judah and he's 20mo old. he's just gotten the hang of going to sleep by himself and I couldn't be more relieved! Now our current hurdle is getting him to stay seated in his high chair. You see,Im pretty sure my son is related to Houdini somehow with the way he can squirm out of straps and figure out how to stand up and dance around in his chair.

Every day for weeks now without fail I sit him in his seat and as I turn around to get the food to put on his tray he's up turned around and either trying to wobble his seat or reach something 2 feet away from his seat. (what can I say the kid has a death wish). and as I walk over to him he tips his head to the side and gives me a cute grin and just stands there.... I will say "Sit down buddy" a few times and he will play some game by sitting on his tray and saying "I sittin'" after a few times of me explaining what to do i will eventually fix the situ…

God doesnt do Booty calls

Deuteronomy 6:15
for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealousGod and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.
How often do you pray? Really?......... What do u pray for? Is it mostly for selfish gain or for Gods will to be done? As I type this I feel a bit hypocritical because this is an area I struggle with a lot! there are times I will go days, even weeks without praying until something major happens in my life and prayer is my last hope to fix it.

For those who are unfamiliar with the concept of a "booty call" let me try and give you an idea of what it is. There are some people out there who desperately need Gods love and salvation, But, instead, to fill the void of love they take advantage of other people and call them over just to be pleasured physically.

I know it seems really wrong to even put the two concepts together. Theres God all mighty full of grace and perfect in all ways! and then theres the concept of the perv…

Single Minded

I started today like every normal day. My son would wake me up by shouting "Mommy!" from his crib and I would hope that I was just hearing things. After a while I roll out of bed and put on my happy face to go see the love of my life who woke me from my beautiful coma.
Today however, I opened the door and this sweet little boy had removed his pajamas, his diaper, and was covered in his own brown filth. So I had to calmly pick up my poop covered son and bring him down stairs because I unfortunately didn't leave any wipes upstairs! It was at the point where he looked at me and said "mommy tinky" that i realized that I had some on me!!!! For those of you who have yet to go through this, let me tell you it becomes very hard to remain calm when you have a toddler in your arms and you can feel the nastiness on you!

What does my ordeal this morning have to do with single mindedness? Good question! let me try and tie it in.

When I first found out I was going to be a …

HEAVEN!!

Image
The old Hymn goes, "This world is not my home I'm just a passing through, My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue, The angels beckon me from heaven's open door,And I can't feel at home in this world anymore..."

How excited do you get about that?! No matter what you are going through in life it will soon pass and then we will be with our father in glory! that's all I got... ITS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOL THO!!! just think about it this next week. whatever you find yourself going through, you, as a believer of Jesus Christ as your personal savior, have a great eternity to look forward to!!

Do small things with great love

What a great reminder!
I know as I was starting out my wifely duties I would catch myself looking for my husbands recognition for all that I had done instead of doing it out of love for him. I would make dinner and want him to applaud everything I made, even though a lot of what I made was out of a box. But as a Christian wife, this put big red flags up for me because the Bible says in Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men" I had to teach myself that tho he may not always notice, I need to continue to do my work for God regardless. and I am happy to report that when I stopped looking for my husbands praise, I started getting it. I guess it really is all about the attitude. :)

Joy vs. Selfishness

Jut to give u a Spiritual check with my life I am gonna be perfectly honest. I have yelled at God more than I have praised Him lately. Not because He hasn't been good to us but because I havent been paying attention. I have been to caught up with things that are "going wrong": our cars breaks went. I havent made any real friends yet. Dan works all the time, I cant find a Job. I feel inadequite and like a failure at everything I try to accomplish.
Did u notice how many times the word "I" was mentioned? The thing is guys is that when trials come (which if they havent already they are about to) you have a couple choices. you can be like me and sit there and yell at God for "not being fair" or you can brace yourself in the hope that you are about to be blown away with Gods blessing and His favor. You can be Selfish OR you can have Joy! (choose Joy)
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the fl…

Daily Surrender

Hey, sorry I havent posted for a while life has been a little crazy lately. I have been working on my "new years resolutins" for those of you who dont know I do mine on my birthday. I  look over my life and look at who I am and who I am striving to be and make goals for myself to get closer to being that person.
This year I got to add a new category to my goals (YAY ME!) so now not only will I be making goals for my spiritual and physical lives but also as a wifey. I already know what my goals are. I am just working on getting ready to acheve them. Spiritually- I want to be in prayer more. For those of you who know me you know that I can pray for like 45 minutes at a time but I have been slacking really bad as a woman in ministry it is my job to constantly be in prayer for my friends and family especially my husband as God is guiding him. and in this day in age where evil is so prevelant I believe that as Christians we should be on our knees daily for our world.
Physically-…
